Thailand
In 2001 Equal Health partnered with Qantas to send a small team of health professionals to Bangkok, Thailand to conduct a needs assessment into the health requirements of the residents of Klong Toey, a slum area near the port of Bangkok.
Working in collaboration with the Human Development Foundation in Klong Toey, Equal Health provided optical, dental and medical health checks for the children and adolescents in the local area.
Findings from this trip indicated a great need for dental treatment and an Equal Health dental committee was formed to establish a dental clinic in Bangkok.
Unfortunately, Equal Health was unable to advance the project due to lack of approval from the Thai Government.
